Child Protection Policy

The purpose of this Child Protection Policy is to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of all children and young people (under 18 years of age) participating in activities at Australian Warrior Fitness Ninja Warrior Gym. We are committed to creating a child-safe environment, preventing harm, and responding effectively to any concerns or incidents of child abuse or neglect, in line with New South Wales child protection laws and standards.

Scope: All staff (full-time, part-time, casual, contract), volunteers, coaches, instructors, contractors, visitors, third-party providers, children under 18 in classes/holiday programs/parties/casual sessions, and parents/guardians/carers.

Our commitment: Safe inclusive environment; prevent abuse/neglect; screen, train and supervise staff; respond promptly to concerns; promote children’s rights; empower children to voice concerns.

Legal: Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998; Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012; Ombudsman Act 1974; Child Safe Standards (Office of the Children’s Guardian).

Recruitment: Valid WWCC verified via Office of the Children’s Guardian; reference checks; child safety in job docs; WWCC register maintained.

Training: Mandatory child protection training on induction and annually (signs of abuse, mandatory reporting, disclosures, Code of Conduct).

Code of Conduct: Respect and fairness; maintain physical/emotional boundaries; no exploitative behaviour; no private messaging children outside gym activities; no photos without parental consent; positive language; report concerns immediately; authorised supervision at all times.

Reporting: Mandatory reporters must report reasonable suspicion of significant harm to the NSW Child Protection Helpline (13 21 11). Internal reports go to the Child Safety Officer or Gym Manager immediately.

Work Health and Safety Policy

At Australian Warrior Fitness, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all members, staff, visitors, and contractors. Our aim is to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses by fostering a culture of safety.

Objectives: Comply with WHS laws; manage risks of Ninja Warrior activities; systematic hazard identification and control; promote safety awareness; continuous improvement.

Responsibilities: Management leads safety culture and resources; employees/coaches follow procedures and report hazards; members adhere to instructions and report hazards; contractors/visitors comply on site.

Key activities: Risk assessments and register; safety training and briefings; equipment maintenance; emergency exits/drills/first aid; incident reporting and investigation; health monitoring advice (warm-up, hydration).

This policy is reviewed annually or after significant incidents.

Inclusion Policy

Australian Warrior Fitness is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of age, ability, gender, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation, feels welcomed, respected, and empowered to participate in the Ninja Warrior experience.

Accessibility: Physical access where possible; modified courses/obstacles for different skill levels.

Diversity and equity: Non-discrimination; cultural sensitivity training; gender-inclusive facilities where provided.

Programs: Kids classes by skill level; seniors balance/coordination; adaptive sessions; inclusive competitions with adjusted rules where needed.

Community: Outreach with schools and community organisations; feedback mechanisms; staff inclusivity training; annual review; clear grievance process.
